The Abdominal Imaging Division in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona seeks an ABR-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist to join our cutting-edge subspecialty-focused clinical practice with exciting research and education opportunities. The ideal candidate is an abdominal radiologist with expertise in MR and CT with additional expertise in GI fluoroscopy and/or Ultrasound. Highly motivated radiologists at all levels of experience are invited to apply and join our nationally and internationally recognized Abdominal Imaging leaders for this position in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal start date for this position is January 2025.
The Abdominal Imaging Division is currently composed of 15 radiologists, many who also rotate in the Ultrasound Division. The diagnostic exams performed reflects the large number of liver and kidney transplants performed at Mayo Clinic Arizona, patients with complex medical/surgical histories, oncology patients, and non-trauma patients presenting to the Emergency Department for acute care. In addition, the Ultrasound Division has an active procedural service including transplant organ and targeted lesion biopsies. The Department of Radiology emphasizes high quality patient care and maintains an excellent working relationship with our colleagues in other disciplines.
Mayo Clinic Arizona has campuses located in Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ and is consistently ranked No. 1 in the state of Arizona by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals, with top 15 national designations for service lines in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, top 40 for Urology and top 25 for Oncology. Mayo Clinic Arizona has a top ranked medical school and is also affiliated with Arizona State University through an Alliance for Healthcare partnership. The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona currently has 65 radiologists, 5 physicists, 20 residents, and 2 abdominal imaging fellows. The residency program is top ranked with planned expansion to 28 residents, including an IR/DR program starting in 2025. Radiology equipment is state of the art and currently includes 9 MRI scanners (3T, 1.5T, 7T), one 3T PET/MRI, one 3T intraoperative MRI, 2 PET/CT scanners, and 8 CT scanners. In 2024, planned equipment installs are 2 additional MRs as well as additional CTs and US. This will support the Mayo Clinic “Arizona. Bold. Forward” campaign which committed $750 million to add 1.4 million square feet to the Phoenix campus, doubling its size and resulting in approximately 400 inpatient beds.
